Motorized electric bikes are sometimes also referred to as e-bikes. It is just like a bicycle but has an attached electric motor which is recharged by plugging it into an electrical outlet. They are very popular in China while relatively new in Europe and the United States. For cyclists who want a little help with climbing hills it is an ideal choice.
The build up of the bike is to be featured on the October 22 edition of American Chopper on the TLC Network. A brief video of the bike’s introduction (being ridden by Teutul himself) can also be seen here.
Enough battery for a decent distance – Nearly all electric bikes have a range of about 20 miles minimum, and the latest bikes are able to deliver power for over 100 miles.
Don’t kid yourself by sitting in the ‘bici elettrica crowd’ and think that by doing so, you are doing your ecological, environmental and ideological best for society. The planet will still warm! Despite what most people believe, a high percentage of the world’s electricity is produced using ‘dirty fuels’ like oil and coal. And this is NOT going to change anytime soon. In fact, the more electric vehicles that are produced, the more the world will rely on ‘dirty fuels’ to keep up with increasing demand for electricity. And another interesting fact for you to ponder is this. Even with silly government subsidies, electric vehicles are all priced higher than their petrol or diesel equivalents.
So cycling is another option but we decided to research one step further than that when we heard about such a thing as an electric push bike. This can get him to the gym in no time, he saves money every time he rides, he can lock it on to the bike rack when he gets there and can choose whether to pedal or not!
Third, make sure that there is a way to mount the battery and controller box. Most kits mount the battery above the rear wheel on a rack. Where you mount the controller is up to you but often times, it is mounted to the underside of the rack or on the seat post. The rack is not designed to flex and any bicycle that has a flexible frame is not going to be suitable for this use. This type of frame is mostly used in mountain bikes.
Looking at some stats, a medium class household usually has a minimum of 2 cars. A high up well to do household has between 3 and five cars. Most of these houses also have one or more two wheelers, especially in countries where the Public transport systems are not well developed. And Even the public transport uses fuel. Well imagine the amount of fuel we are consuming and the pollution we are throwing into the air.
If the battery has run out of power you can pedal along but because of the additional weight you will go along a bit slower. But don’t worry about the weight of your e-bike but worry about your own weight instead. If you are a heavy person your own weight will be much more of a problem.
